What we do
Scrap metal, bought and handled the right way
We buy scrap metal from the businesses that produce it: electrical contractors, machine shops, fabricators, manufacturers and the firms that strip out and clear industrial sites.
Cable and non-ferrous metals are our core. That means copper, brass, aluminium and lead, armoured and power cable, and the industrial stainless and steel that comes out of plant rooms and production lines. We collect from site, grade each metal for what it is and pay by bank transfer.
As a recycling brokerage, we also arrange collections for the rest of a site’s waste through registered collectors, so the scrap and the everyday waste are handled by one contact.

Honest grading
Clean copper is paid as clean copper. If something is downgraded, we will tell you why and how to keep it in grade next time.
Bank transfer, always
No cash, ever. Payment against the weights and grades, with a record you can match to your accounts.
Paperwork for every load
A waste transfer note for each collection, and a record of every purchase, as the law requires.
Set up for site work
Skips, cages and bins placed where the metal comes out, and collections timed around the job.

Yes. Resilient Contracting holds a scrap metal dealer’s site licence from Wigan Council (SML/S0042). We buy scrap cable, copper, brass, aluminium, lead, stainless, swarf and steel from businesses and trades, and pay by bank transfer once the metal has been weighed and graded.

Yes. We hold a Wigan Council scrap metal dealer’s site licence (SML/S0042) and we are registered with the Environment Agency as an upper-tier waste carrier, broker and dealer (CBDU581935). Both are on public registers, so you can check them yourself before you hand anything over.
